The possibility of displacement in the different ambient designed is very important. In many of cases, the primary distribution of the circulation is almost the basic configuration of all the area designed.

In the case of Salt Lake Library, horizontal circulation has two patterns: circular and linear, and both are present in the exterior and the interior of this public equipment. In exteriors, the linear configuration of the squares of Salt Lake City, interact with the curvilinear form of the building and some curvilinear pedestrian paths in the gardens.

The interior have a multilevel circulation, were the oblique approach is the façade, the circular wall is the entrance between garden and square and the amphitheater is entrance to the building. The building itself work like communicator into the different levels: the gardens, the square, the amphitheater and the terrace in the superior level. The vertical circulation is improved by the stairs and the big semicircular ramp in the wall.

Is interesting the treatment on the superior levels of the building and how takes advantage of the top, converting the terrace in an elevated square. The distribution of the emplacement is cultural and recreational activities on superior and lower levels, and the rest of the building focus on the normal library activities: reserve, office, lector’s halls, etc. The circulation communicate the different activities by a principal corridor where is located the stairways and the semicircular wall.
